英语环保作文：Cars and Air Pollution

oo many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. all the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. these gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death. 

one possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. in shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. but it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones. another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. if the price of petrol rises constantly and the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people will not buy private cars. and the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly.

 

on the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the collective efforts from the government, the public and the environmentalists.

there are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. one of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. the polluted water causes diseases and death. what is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

in my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. first, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. we should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves

earth hour started in australia with millions of homes and businesses turning their lights off for one hour. now it has grown to become one of the world’s biggest climate change initiatives. people are all joining together in a global effort to show that it’s possible to take action on global warming.

earth hour has brought about some new changes to our lives. the iconic bird’s nest national stadium and the nearby water cube national aquatics center, usually illuminated by floodlights, went dark at 8:30 p.m., while dozens of hotels, office buildings, shopping malls and restaurants also switched some lights off. people join activities such as candle-lit dinners and star-gazing parties as a response to the call for going dark. however, some critics have dismissed the event as simply a gimmick that will not make any difference.

from my point of view, earth hour is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community. a call to stand up, to take responsibility and to get involved in working towards a sustainable future. earth hour is a message of hope and a message of action. everyone can make a difference.

　我们都是环保低碳小卫士

　　最近，老师教我们学会保护环境，倡导我们多做“低碳生活”。放学后，我把这个任务告诉了爸爸和妈妈。

　　妈妈说：低碳生活就是少开车，尽量减少尾汽排放，可以步行或骑自行车，夏天，少开空调，电视不看要及时关毕，做到节电，洗完手要马上关紧水龙头以免水滴出来，这些就是所谓的低碳生活。原来，低碳生活就是从我们生活中的小细节做起呀！

　　我趁热打铁：“我们应该吐故纳新，改变以往浪费水、电的行为了。现在就连小孩子也明白浪费水电资源是很可耻的行为，难道你们大人还要执迷不悟下去吗？”

　　爸爸一一举同：“说得对，我们这个社会就是太浪费，很多人做出违背良心的事情，我们应该阻止这样的事发生！”

　　妈妈连声附和：“没错！我们要保护环境，不再让地球肮脏，不再让地球痛哭欲泪！”

　　我自告奋勇：“要不，我们来做个低碳创新吧！”

　　低碳生活创新大比拼第一位“我”：每天清晨，如果让爸爸的小轿车在大马路上驰骋，不仅耗油，而且污染环境，但骑脚踏车就不同了，不仅可以呼吸清新的空气，而且还可以提高我的骑车技术，更重要的是美化环境哟！“三”全齐美，划得来！

　　低碳生活创新大比拼第二位老爸：“以前我经常熬通宵电灯彻夜到明，而且上午刷牙洗脸时也迷迷糊糊的连水龙头也关不紧，而现在我买了个闹钟晚上9点必须睡觉，这样不但提高精神状态还节约用水和电呢！

　　低碳生活创新大比拼第三位老妈：“那次我听电视里的专家说现在很多家庭主妇喜欢使用炸，炒的做菜方法，搞得房里乌烟瘴气，所以倒致癌病发作，可现在我把厨房搬到院子里，小鸟与我唱歌，清风和我跳舞，生活如此多娇，我仿佛看见健康在与我招手呢！”

　　你伸手环保一点，我伸手环保一点，健康青睐于大家点，低碳生活从我做起，每个人都是健康的使者。
