69岁的阿卜杜萨马托夫是俄罗斯著名天文学家、俄罗斯科学院天文观测总台宇宙研究室主任。此外，他还是俄罗斯国内坚持“太阳活动导致气候变化”论的主要科学家。最近，阿卜杜萨马托夫接受了本报记者的采访，并再次重申了自己的观点：气候变化的最主要原因是太阳活动，人类活动对气候变化的影响微不足道。
阿卜杜萨马托夫表示，全球变暖是事实。这是因为在过去的一个世纪里，太阳辐射强度呈现前所未有的急剧上升态势，并在1998年至2005年达到峰值。强烈的太阳辐射使得海洋表面温度增加，并产生大量二氧化碳等温室气体，相比之下，人类活动产生的温室气体不值一提。
他说，太阳是一个变化多端的恒星，它的辐射强度经常处于不断变化中。研究表明，太阳活动存在200年的大周期和11年的小周期，这些周期变化对地球的气候变化和生物生存产生了直接影响。从地球所经历的漫长地质年代看，地球在太阳影响下已经经历了多次气候周期性变暖和变冷。科学家通过对格陵兰岛和南极大陆地下深达3千米处采集到的冰芯进行研究发现，全球升温早在工业革命前就已经开始了。
阿卜杜萨马托夫认为，工业活动所产生的二氧化碳可能是导致全球气候变暖的众多因素之一，但决不是主要原因。目前被视为罪魁祸首的二氧化碳在大气层中已经聚集了数10万年，是地球生态系统的重要组成部分。温室气体在吸热升温的过程中，由于体积膨胀将会逐渐上升。甲烷、二氧化碳等温室气体的上升增加了对流层温度，给地球形成一个“自动调温箱”，维持着地球上各种生物繁衍生息所需的适宜温度。阿卜杜萨马托夫认为，通常意义上的人类工业活动和全球温室效应之间的必然因果关系是不成立的，目前的“温室效应”理论看似合理，但缺乏确凿的科学依据。


更令人吃惊的结论是，未来全球气温将会下降，而不是上升。阿卜杜萨马托夫称，根据俄罗斯科学院天文观测总台对太阳活动的观测，太阳辐射强度正在回落，这种回落趋势将有可能导致全球范围的降温。早在1978年，科学家就根据对太阳活动规律和宇宙中太阳能辐射的整体数据分析指出，地球所能接受到的太阳能将会继续呈减少的趋势。从目前的情况以及对太阳活动周期和太阳能出现的变化所作的全面分析来看，在现今这个200年周期内，太阳对地球辐射将会于2041年或2042年达到最低值。从2012年至2015年起，全球气温将开始缓慢下降，严寒将不可避免地出现在2055年至2060年前后。全球降温期将会持续50年左右，在此之后气温又将开始又一轮的缓慢上升。但他强调，届时全球范围内年平均温度将会比现在降低大约1℃到1.5℃，人们无需为此担忧。
寒来暑往，日夜更替，地球上一切生命都在根据太阳辐射的强度来完成能量转换，并进行非常有规律的变化绵延。其实，与炎热的白垩纪和寒冷的冰川期相比，我们当前所处的时代并不是地球最炎热或最寒冷的时期。
