Risk-Cost Optimization for Underground Sewer Pipeline Network
University of Greenwich – Department of Civil Engineering
Applications are invited for a three year PhD studentship at the Department of Civil Engineering/University of Greenwich in the area of risk-cost optimization for underground sewer pipeline network. The full-time studentship includes a bursary of up to £13,800 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications), as well as all tuition fees. 
Candidates are expected to hold a good first degree or Masters degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering or Mathematics. Candidates with interest or experience in one of the following areas will have an advantage:
·        structural reliability and/or risk analysis of infrastructure,
·        risk-cost optimization
·        materials and structural deterioration,
·        solid and fracture mechanics,
·        numerical and programming skills.
