　　Text Completion questions include a passage composed of one to five sentences with one to three blanks. There are three answer choices per blank, or five answer choices if there is a single blank. There is a single correct answer, consisting of one choice for each blank. The examinee receives no credit for partially correct answers.

　　段落完型部分包括一个段落含有1至5个句子，每个句子有1至3个空格。每个空格（空格数量在两个以上）有3个备选答案，而对于只有一个空格者则有5个备选答案。每空只有一个正确答案。考生只有将所有答案做对该题才得分，即：空格在两个以上者不分开计分。

　结合新GRE填空分项题目的特点，对于打算参加2012年改革后新GRE考试的考生，主要有以下几点建议：

　　首先，单词背诵不可放松。尽管取消了类比反义词，但这并不代表一个参加GRE考试不需要一个很大的词汇量。尤其在填空部分对词汇提出了更高的要求，因此，背单词仍然是参加考试的首要任务。

　　其次，增加阅读训练。由于新GRE更多的考单词的用法和精确含义，同时在填空中加深了对阅读理解能力的考查，因此，大量的阅读训练必不可少。

　　第三，适当延长备考周期。相对于词汇记忆，阅读理解能力提高需要的时间更长，由于类比反义词的取消，单纯的词汇记忆对分数的提高已经没有那么显著，因此，建议根据实际情况适当延长备考时间。　　第四，抛掉侥幸心理，保持放松心态。尽管新GRE填空仍然只有客观题，但猜对选项的概率大大下降，因此要抛掉侥幸心理，以自己真实实力应战。同时，要保持放松心态，新考试形式毕竟还在测试阶段，题目无论难易都是对所有考生而言的，相比做对题目的数量而言，你在所有考生中所处的位置更为重要。
